My very low budget build
well I have been building my 1997 club car carryall 2 plus for a couple months now. I wanted to do it the cheapest I could for now anyways. Here are some pics of what I have done so far.

Re: My very low budget build
So for the front lift I went with a home made Z lift which is made from a couple pieces of 1/4 inch steel plate I got from the local recycle yard I think I paid 5 bucks for it and had a buddy cut them out with his plasma cutter. they are 6 inch Z's and the centers are 3 inches long to bring the front end forward some to clear the 27 inch tall itp mudlites that i scored for free

Re: My very low budget build
Looks good! You might consider making a cross support or two for your "Z lift brackets" for some lateral support. Might not ever be a problem, but that's quite a long bracket. Not picking your build apart, just looking out for safety. That's a pretty good idea with the bracket. I've never seen one like that. Is that mostly a "club car" thing? Are those drum brakes on the front? Sweet!

Re: My very low budget build
That turned very cool and at a good price.
Good call Slo. It does seem to be an advantage to having a CC, I've seen a few people making their own Z lift. I was going to ask about the front brakes also. |

Re: My very low budget build
I threw in some bracing that runs from the top of one z bracket to the bottom of the other and the same on the other side. The pic was taken before I got it made and installed

Re: My very low budget build
Good job. We would hate to hear that all your hard work was sacrificed due to some simple bracing, or worse you were injured. How's it ride and have you taken it off road yet?
