Default New tires - where to get them put on rims

Just bought two 23 x 10.5 x 12 Kenda Terra Trac tires.

How hard is it to remove and get on rims without tire tools?

Where is a good place to take them to get them swapped out? What did you pay per rim/tire?

I went to Pep Boys. They charged me $20 to mount all 4. They didn't scratch my rims either.

I got a real nice set of small tire-bars from Harbor Freight(about $ 8 ),they work awesome. If you don't mind doing them yourself,go for it.

two long flat head screwdrivers, 5 minutes each, and you're golden.

The tires are kind of squished!

I've done it.... there is a technique to it. If you've never done it before it's not worth your time and effort, pay someone to do it.

I have to agree. I put my tires on my rims and was it ever a pita. The rims are small enough they move around and hard to work with.

After you get it mounted on the rim, take a rope and tie it around the tire so it unsquishes it. That'll push the bead out towards the rim, hopefully enough to let you put 3 pounds of air in it. Then untie or cut the rope and finish inflating.

I went to images.google.com looking for something to better explain what I was trying to convey and found a link to exactly the technique, being used on a golf cart no less! Again, this is for after you get the tire onto the rim and are trying to inflate the squished tire.

was reading somewhere about using ratchet straps.

I probably don't have the tools to do it so I might as well take somewhere. where is a good place?

So Far I've heard Pep Boys. Did someone mention Wal Mart Before?
