Default Lifted marathon... intake/filter clearance

Lifted my marathon last weekend and now the bottom of the carb inlet is level with the bottom of the wheelwell sheet metal. Short of cutting the sheet metal and moving it down, what have some of you come up with?

When I did mine,I used the intake hose, and then topped it with a pancake-filter for a Harley. The inner panel had to be trimmed a bit to make room for the hose, and then I curved it upwards,to et the filter up as high as possible.Hope this helps.

You will need more than 4" to fit 25" tires, and if its' stock,it won't be much fun,as it will kill itself trying to turn them(trust me,I ran a 2pg in mine for 4yrs,and it was awful running up long hills with 22"s).Stick with 22"s or upgrade the engine.

I have a 5" lift and 22's got that fender well clearances for a 2 1/2" angled unifilter. Agree that 22" is max practical size with a 2pg.
