2003 Club Car DS 48v
I need to put on new rear leaf springs on my cart. The cart is lifted but still has original leaf spring. I now have rear seat riders from time to time.
Was looking at this kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Club-Car-DS-...a92510&vxp=mtr Any comments or suggestions? Thanks, M |

Re: 2003 Club Car DS 48v
Good springs, I just installed this type on my Precedent this past weekend. My cart is lifted with 23" tires. I had rubbing issues when I had passengers on the back with the stock leaf springs. The ride is good. Search for "dual action leaf spring". There are a few posts about these.

Ok Thanks. I try to keep my business within the forum if possible. In ScottyB case, I have asked my wife to take a second mortgage on our home because he has so much good stuff!!

I believe you will need longer U-Bolts. Just FYI.

Re: 2003 Club Car DS 48v
Prior to my install of these new leaf springs, I had 4 nuts per U-bolt. With these springs, I only had enough room to install 2 nuts (1 per side of the U). Should I be searching for a longer U bolt so I can get the rest of the bolts back on? I wasn't sure why it had so many. Sorry to hijack the thread. Thanks.
BTW, the nuts I put back on are nylon locking nuts. The ones I left off are not. |

The lock nuts should be fine.
The shocks might also not reach. In that case you will need extenders or a longer hd shock |

Re: 2003 Club Car DS 48v
I put some steel 7" 3/8 regular bolts on the new leaf springs until I find the longer U bolts. The cart is nice and level but a little higher than I would prefer. I will take a few photos tomorrow when it is daylight.
