1988 ezgo marathon steering and 4" lift
Hello all,
I recently purchased a 1988 ezgo gas marathon and have installed the 4" economy lift and new wheels and tires. I ran into some trouble with the steering modification that the instructions vaguely eluded to. I was wondering if there is a step by step set of instructions to removing the steering arm so it can be flipped. I tried removing it for about an hour before giving up and moving on. Is there a special tool required? Is it absolutely necessary that this be done? I have not driven the cart with the lift yet but in the garage pushing it back to its parking space it seems to turn ok. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Nathan |

If you don't flip the pitman arm the tie rods will be too short and will cause a toe out condition, possibly worse. Usually I used a pitman arm/tie rod removal tool. You can "borrow" one from a local auto parts store.
