Club Car Precedent as a Hunting Buggy?
First post here but been lurking for a few weeks trying to learn as much as I can. I'm looking to build a hunting buggy to get me in and out of the woods. No extreme riding, just some moderate hills. I have found a 08 Precedent for sale (48v with new 8v batteries). Is this a good platform to build from?
Would like to do a 6" lift with 23" tires and thinking about a 500A controller with upgraded solenoid and new 4ga cables. Also do think $3K is a decent price for this cart? It looks to be in great shape. |

I don't know enough about electric carts to help, just what little I've read on here. Hopefully someone else with more sparky experience will chime in. Good luck!

You are looking at another 2-3 g on top of cart price to get what you want. Go to evdrives and cartsunlimited and plumquick to look at packages and prices or call them. I personally search for deals in cart purchasing and upgrades and wait until i get what i want. With that said i wouldnt pay 3. It may be worth it but i work on a tighter budget. My price includes going to series so talk to the recommendations and see if you need a different motor.

Re: Club Car Precedent as a Hunting Buggy?
I think $3000 might be a bit much for what you are describing.
A month or so ago I took my 1999 gas workhorse in to get worked on. I'd painted it camo myself and did a homemade lift. I'd also put on 22-11-10 tires and rims. In talking the guy said he could have sold it three times in the past week while it was there. I asked how much he could get and he said $3000. I ended up working a trade with him. I traded for a 2008 Yamaha drive 48 volt cart. I had him add a hitch, a box on the back, a 6" lift, the 19 MPH upgrade, 4 gauge cables, he took the tires and rims off my cart, and installed 4 brand new Trojan 12 volt batteries. Included was pick up and delivery for both carts and that was 50 miles each round trip. I gave him my workhorse and $250. So to compare, for about the same money you're talking I already have everything complete, aside from the bigger controller. But it goes fast enough for what I want, it makes it up a steep hill better then my gas cart did, and goes through all the stuff in the woods I need it to do. |

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll keep searching for a little cheaper cart. That way I'll have more money for the upgrades.
