Need more speed!!
So I've been online pretty much all day and my head is spinning. Sooooo many options of things out there. I have a 2011 CC Precedent that's lifted with 22" tires. My neighborhood where I primarily drive is a 25mph. speed limit. I currently run 17mph according to the speed limit sign radar thingy. I would like to get my cart up to 25mph at least--- 30mph preferable.
I've been looking at 7144 motors and DCX400's, 500's, 600's…. talked to a high school buddy who owns a custom cart shop down south and he told me about an AC conversion….. then I see Plumb Quick motors now. Urrrrgh. Lol. Basically this cart will always see street use and be used at the drag strip as a pit car. I live in Florida and it's flat as all get out here. Speed is what I need. The cart has 6 new 8V Powertron P8000 batteries which I've read on here are a "private label" Trojan. Has this been officially verified yet? I was going to replace them with Trojan's and sell the Powertrons to recoup some, but, if there is no need then I won't. I've heard not to do gears with the larger tires that it will kill motors prematurely. Any truth to this? Thanks in advance for all answers. |

Have you modified your cart yet for more speed. I just purchased a 2011 CC and am thinking of speeding it up also. Any advice? I see that you live in Ponte Vedra. Im in Jacksonville. Mandarin area.

Is your cart all stock? Code 4 is the fastest it will go stock (19.6 mph).

Re: Need more speed!!
hi, not really sure about the club, but on my g16 Yamaha, there is a Governor , it has a adjusting nut,, on top of the trans. , if you turn it in all the way with large tires you get around 25mph.. i have a few threads left and it runs about 22mph,, but i run about 15 mph most of the time anyway;; it seems the faster i get it to go the slower i drive it,, i am a little confused, is your cart gas or electric? if its electric i really cant help''

Re: Need more speed!!
Mine is a 2011 electric CC. Im thinking about putting in a Plum Quick Bandit motor. Currently, I have a speed code 4. Everything else is stock, including the wheels and tires. Im thinking about putting on some 12" wheels and low profile tires.

Re: Need more speed!!
Based on what I've seen on here, the Bandit is a great choice. That will get you to the mid 20s all else stock.
