raising an electric motor
I want to go in deeper puddles. I've been thinking about mounting my motor above the axle. and possibly using a chain drive to get it to the original spline. I was going to use a spare axle and cut the motor mounting pieces off of it to do this. has anyone ever attempted anything like this?

Re: raising an electric motor
I think what your proposing will be a lot of headaches.
I've submerged mine plenty with no issues. |

Re: raising an electric motor
I'm not saying I haven't submerged mine more times than I can count. some of those holes get deep quick I've had water lines halfway to the seat several times. eventually I'm going to get stuck in water that deep. when that happens the motor will be sitting under water for 20 minutes. I'm sure I could take the motor apart replace the bearing and clean out the mud it would be fine. I don't want to have to take the motor apart and replace the bearing so I'm trying to think of a preventative measure

I've already mounted the controller and solenoid on the backrest. I have a plan and a location for the ITS throttle box but I have not moved yet. I'm least concerned about the batteries as long as I don't bring them under water. |

Re: raising an electric motor
I'm thinking like you get everything high or in waterproof enclosure but may be to much heat
