Golf Cart Virgin - Be Gentle
I'm new to the forum. I am a drag racer and bought the cart so the crew doesnt have to walk and carry essentials all over the track. I found a nice Yamaha G1 at a good price. Very clean and well taken care of.
I would like to lift it and pretty it up (paint, etc). I need to be able to tow a 1800 lb racecar. More power might be a good thing especially with larger tires. Any ideas or suggestions that might help me keep from making uninformed rookie mistakes? Thanks for any help. |

No idea what that is. I am brand new to golf carts. I've had this thing for less than 48 hrs.

Welcome to the Forum.
Guessing you have the 2 stroke cart. You can bypass the governor to get more speed. To get more power you will need to put a torque spring in to help the lose from larger tires. I would recommend not going over 22" tires preferably 20". Check Razbarlow threads he just got thru lifting his G1 and putting the spring kit in. His threads should help you alot. |

Big block in cart world is a 16 or more V twin, Briggs and Straton or Honda engine.
You would not want one in your cart. Your cart wouldn't have reverse. The 2 stroke uses the motor for forward/reverse. |

Yes, 2 stroke. I wont be getting radical. 20" tires sound huge to me. The most important thing for me is to be able to pull the racecar. But its gotta look good.

Re: Golf Cart Virgin - Be Gentle
After looking around I am catching on. How much lift should I be considering?
Thanks for the link to the spring. I will be ordering shortly. |
