play along idler arm in steering box
I have a 97 ezgo gas txt and I am trying to tighten up the steering. I've narrowed it down to play along the idler arm shaft (18 ). The bolt (22) and the 2 washers (23, 24) seem fine but the thrust washer (24) is not thick enough to allow the bolt to tighten up the idler arm.
The only 2 options I can think of are 1. to replace the flanged bearing (15) hoping that it's somehow contributing to the play. 2. add a thin thrust washer as a shim or find a thicker replacement (24). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: play along idler arm in steering box
Most of the time the bad parts are #30 and #38, is there teeth missing on #30? have you taken the steering box apart, and it could be #18 or #21. Gornoman has a thread about this, use the search to find it
