Default Buying 1st Cart

I'm ready to buy my first cart to take to the beach. I'm deciding between a 2007 Yamaha, 2010 E-Z Go RXD and 2011 TXT. All are lifted with 23" tires. Any advice on which would be the preferred cart? With new batteries I'm looking at a price of $4000-$4250 for the 2 EZ-Go carts. Thanks!

Welcome to BGW!!! If the beach is near saltwater I would look into Club Car golf carts. They have aluminum frames which will outlast a steel frame cart. We have had a couple steel carts and they only lasted a few years in the harsh salt environment. The Club Cars do get rust on suspension parts but the frames last many many years.

beachcart,

You're set on a sparky vs gas then?

I'm partial to Yamaha, but tj has a good point about CC's aluminum frame.

That said, I live near the beach (Florida) and have had no frame rust on two Yamahas...the frames are electrostatically powder coated. 'Currently have an '07 YDRA (Gas G29).

Good luck with your search...and welcome.

The carts I was referring to were quite a few years ago. I'm sure they have improved their paint/powdercoat. We also had four wheelers on the island but they only lasted 3-4 years before frames rusted out.

I would lean to the aluminum frame as well for longevity. Also, if you get a Yamaha make sure the diff isn't the white tag unit. They have a bad reputation for imploding gears on the intermediate shaft in the rear diff.
