compare A-arm lift to spindel lift
I want to lift my 2010 rxv with a 6 inch lift to fit some 22 or 24 inch all terrain tires but would like an unbiased opinion on which is better or what the difference is between an A-arm lift or a spindel lift. Even if it is just a price different. And maybe a recomendation on where to get one at a reasonabl price. Thanks for the thoughts, help, ideas or opinions. Anything is greatly appreciated. I also plan to install it all myself if that matters...

Re: compare A-arm lift to spindel lift
In general the double a arm lifts are better, they steer and handle bumps better typically are (or may be) higher. If you off road or run the cart fast over rough stuff they are the best, and even better if they come with better shocks or you fit a better one from an atv/etc. There is good reason most atv use that design.
On the other hand if you are rolling around the campground and never go fast offroad you don't really need it, you just need to clear the big tires you are putting on and have it work as well as it did stock right? And that is what spindle lifts do. They have cheaper/simpler/less parts so the cost is lower and install might be easier if anything. In general they just jack the cart up and don't change much in the suspension, they do not increase travel in most cases. There are a lot of lifts out there, off hand a reasonable one might be an allsports. One of the best quality is Jakes. Don't be limited by that list I don't shop lifts at this time, but do look for other posts on lifts there are a lot of them. |

Re: compare A-arm lift to spindel lift
Thank you for the input sho305 that's what I needed to know... I plan on dragging and hauling allot of things out of the woods but don't plan on going fast over or through anything just because I like taking care of my things...

If. You're actually going to use it off road I suggest an a arm lift. For not much more expense you'll be glad you did.

Re: compare A-arm lift to spindel lift
That is about it, I'd also recommend the double arm if the extra hundred or whatever is not a big deal to your budget. They are nicer in any off road situation, but no you don't need it as much if you are going slow or on smooth surfaces. They do look a little cooler lol. I lifted mine with a welder and stock arms back in '99 and still running it. Sure I'd like to put an atv front on it, but hate to have it down for that long and no time to hunt one up. Not a lot I have not done with that cart from yard work to trail riding to pulling trailers. It has a clone 420 in it now trying to get the clutch tuned right.
