Re: Stock Wheel Tire Width
An 11"-width tire(ex.22" x11"-8") will fit,the stock rims are the same width as aftermarket ones, the difference is offset.Stock rims are 8" x7"-wide,with the hub-flange(rim-center),centered(0"-offset),Aftermarket wheels come normally come 3"/4",or 2"/5", with the lesser number on the inside, which pushes the tires outwards, gaining clearance. Most tires will rub, once they reach 10"-width(ex.22"x10"-8" tire size),due to the sidewall bulge, and if the diameter is increased, other parts may rub as well if offset-wheels or spacers are not used.Hope this helps.

Re: Stock Wheel Tire Width
It does help. Thanks! And thanks for adding in the additional info about backpacking. That is useful as well and I didn't think to ask.
When you say that the side wall rubs, do you mean up front when turning or out back? I am going to be lifting this G2 cart before I purchase tires, will that be enough to prevent rubbing sidewalls? I just can't bring myself to spend a few hundred on rims just for show right now. I want all my money to be placed in the performance pile. |

Re: Stock Wheel Tire Width
The front tires will rub the steering arms.New steel offset wheels are under $20 each thru site-sponsors.You can run your stock tires with some lifts, others will rub.I know of a few lifts that use 8"-offset rims with no issues, and stock wheels/tires fit too.

Re: Stock Wheel Tire Width
On a stock G2 I once put 20x8-8 on the front and 20x10-8 on the rears, these were traction lawn tires not atv tires. The 10 wide would go on the front if you put 4 washers behind the wheel lol, but since there is more weight on the rear the 8s worked fine. He was getting stuck in the wet grass on hills and such, could not walk well, helped the guy out fixing up his cart. The front hits the frame where it widens to go under the floor, that is why lifts that fit 22s will move the front arms forward. The rear can rub plastic behind the wheel. A lot of lifts can not run 8" wheels, or you need ones like on the cart they are bell on the inside to clear the brakes. Less risky to swap to 10" if you are buying tires/wheels and might lift it. I used douglas Kart wheels, they are alum wheels with the bell inside. There were not all the cool wheels out there way back when I lifted this one. It is a bad idea to run stock wheels if you lift the cart, its not stable and not safe IMO.
