Default Charging Question

I just completed a new build in a club car DS which used (2) 7 module Nissan Leaf packs connected in parallel - one on each side of the controller per the picture. The charger I purchased was a Y-power chinese module ( 58.8V and 14Amps) which is was advertised as a for 14S Lithium setup.

I've rewired the current charger port to connect to one of the packs minus the grey wire and am switching the cord from the club car lead acid charger to the lithium charger so i can use the same charging port.

Anyone see a problem with this setup? I'm not 100% sure that the chargers advertised configuration, in this case 14s, actually means anything. If the chargers for lithium and it for my voltage and the amps are OK does it really matter whether the charger is labeled 14S or not?
Thanks for any advice!

What are you using for BMS on those packs?

If you have the two packs full time in parallel, at least make sure there is fuse on the cable that connects the two packs together.

Ideally, for personal and component safety, You would have a BMS in each pack that work together to provide a combined LV and HV cell protection.

The packs should also be isolated from each other by a contactor unless you are charging or driving to prevent a single cell failure in one pack to become a runaway condition between the packs.

A fuse between packs is the minimum safety that should be in place.

Actually I am not using a BMS. I bottom balanced the cells, have a low voltage cutoff meter I've implemented and my charger auto shutoffs at 53.8V

Too risky?

The wires running between the 2 batteries are 2 gauge, what size fuse should be added?

THanks

That is not how I would wire them. I would wire each module in parallel with it's neighbor so that the pair stay balanced. You then need a 14S BMS. These days I would never run without a BMS - especially during charging. I have been running my Leaf module for three years now - and I allow my BMS to balance about once a month. (Top Balance) If you bottom balance you have to be very careful not to overcharge any cells during charging.

I don't think I could reasonably wire them that way given the space limitations.

You would have to put 8 on one side, 6 on the other. My cart is a Yamaha so all 14 fit as one unit.
