I purchased the "Dash Mount". That's the one with the enclosed housing. $155.

Skimming this thread, I see that the battery control equalizes the charge in each pack. So, does that mean that 12v accessories could be run directly off of two packs, or would a reducer still be necessary?

You still need a 12v reducer.

All cells charge in series so they get the same amount of charge, the BMS shunt current is too small to rebalance the pack in a practical manner if you remove an unbalanced charge.

The above posters are right. You would need to either run a reducer, or like I do, have a separate 12V marine battery to run accessories.

I've been trying to educate myself through all of the threads on here. I keep seeing CAN control, CAN bus, CAN, etc. being referred to. However, I have not been able to find what CAN is/does. Would anyone be able to enlighten me?

Thanks

"A Controller Area Network (CAN bus) is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other in applications without a host computer."

Google CAN bus and you will get lots of info on it.

It is basically a very simple communications bus that allows the Battery Management System (BMS) communicate with and in some cases control other components of the system such as the Hall Effect current sensor, a TC charger and Monitor.
