Sucks to hear about your issues but it's good to know. I was looking at the feasibility of putting together a 21 module pack and was considering Chargery..

Here's what I used from Zeva on my two current systems:

Zeva 8-16 Cell BMS, VM3 monitor and CAN bus current sensor, temp sensor and Gigavac 240 contactor (for both HV and LV disconnect) - $525

I did have an issue with one of the two BMS' and Ian gave me the choice sending it back on my dime or he could send me the replacement component and I could solder it in myself. So Zeva is not without issues but Ian stands behind it.

So far.....I've had no issues with the ZEVA. Ian has been great at answering any questions via email. You gotta remember he's in AU so it's usually a day or so before he's awake to respond.

]do you have a few pics of your setup?, looked for the Gigavac 240 and the website shows a few different options or is it offered through Zeva ? http://www.gigavac.com/sites/default...heet/gv240.pdf

Thanks~

There's been some discussion about whether buying the Gigavac brand contactor is necessary for a golf cart or not. I haven't seen where anyone has had any issues with one but there are cheaper alternatives available. I'm not sure yet what direction I'll go on my next pack. If you decide to go with the Gigavac you can also buy direct from the manufacturer in California and save some $$$.

$13 of relays will do essentially what a Gigavac will do when wired properly.

DaveTM's way is an option for some carts as well. Previously Sergio has chimed in on a number of the lithium build threads concerning different options for safely isolating the pack. I'm considered using one of the same $80 HD 400 amp Solenoid (sold by many site sponsors) that I've been using for my wife's carts main solenoid. I initially went with the Gigavac because it was tried an true by other BGW members, seemed to be less complicated (because I had seen it used) and was easy to order with the BMS. My next pack I will use a less expensive but not less effective option.
