Evbatterycenter Charger Dead
My 17A charger from evbatterycenter just died on me. LED not lighting up, no power coming out. I opened the case hoping to find a fuse but didn’t see anything obvious. Anyone experienced this before and have a fix? If not, recommendations on a new charger?

Re: Evbatterycenter Charger Dead
The fuse is in the power connector on the back if it's the same as mine. I had that happen shortly after I got my unit. Fuse blew. The fuse was too low an amperage if I remember. I sent the unit back and got a replacement anyway. My replacement has run for over two years now.

Here is where that fuse is located on your charger. These pics are from Nick at EV Batt center in 2015, showing me where the fuse holder was including a spare fuse. Remove the power cable, then use a small screwdriver to pry out the fuse holder underneath. There you should find a spare fuse. The fuse picture is what happened to my fuse, It never blew, the cheap Chinese solder melted and the fuse opened. I finally found 20a US made fuses to fit. I will see if I can find the part number and post it, I am sure I got them from Mouser. Re: Evbatterycenter Charger Dead
No dice. Mine appears to be different, the power cable goes through the case with a bushing. There’s no way to unplug, and looking at it it seems like the wires are soldered directly to the board.

Re: Evbatterycenter Charger Dead
That isn't the same charger I have although mine is also 17 amps. There must be a fuse on the board somewhere though. Mine is the same as the picture from PingEye3. These chargers at 17 amps are pushing the power supply side pretty close to 10 amps. Nick dialed back my second charger on the current setting a bit when he swapped it out. I had one of the first ones he shipped. So far the replacement one is working fine but it does get pretty warm. I make sure there is real good airflow around it so the fan can do it's job.

Re: Evbatterycenter Charger Dead
I got the small charger from EV with my pack. Supposedly it won't charge if the pack voltage is under 35v. I let the pack voltage get too low once. I picked a new one up on Ebay for about $30 that does charge at lower voltages and it does just fine. I like it much better as well as it has four green lights to show status of charge. It terminates my 36v pack at about 41.7v.
