Default ZEVA monitor on the fritz!

I took my cart out on the last day of rifle season here in Pa. It rained all day.....but I've been out in worse rain. About half-way thru the day my monitor went "white."

I still have my digital volt meter that shows me the pack voltage.....and when I "hit" the monitor touch screen it will still give me the "beep" sound.....but I obviously can't tell if it's changing screens.

It could be the wiring from the BMS to the monitor.....I'll try to look at that first hopefully today.

It could just be that the monitor went on the fritz with the bumping around the cart gets. I'm not upset about it going bad if that's what happen.....I'll keep ya posted.

I turned it on (from sleep) this am. The cart is in a heated garage. The screen now works but has a few lines in it that look like a bad window clean.

I'm pretty sure it got water-logged from the day. I'll seal the back "more better" this go around.

For now I disconnected the monitor and it's in the house where it's a constant 70. I inspected all the sire sheathing and it appears all good. Nothing worn at any contact points with the cart. I'll upgrade as it progresses.

Yikes! Please let us know how this ends up.

Have you considered the old rice trick? When people drop their phones in water, they put rice in a bag with the phone. It draws moisture out. Might be worth a shot...

I'm pretty certain that water got behind my monitor and laid on the small wire harness that hooks into the monitor.

When everything dried out completely I hooked up the monitor again and it's working fine. So, I applied some waterproofing "gack" and will let it dry a day and see how that works. Water should not be able to lay in the harness if it gets in there again.

I'm a bit perplexed as to how this occurred.....unless my cart was parked at a given angle and water ran down the dash somehow. It was cold and rainy that day and I parked at several different spots that gave several different angles.

Oh.....and I missed one deer.
