Unhappy Tried to drive with charger plug in!

I have a Melex 512 - Has been working great no issues. Backed up today not realizing the charger was still plugged into the cart - But charger was not plugged in the wall outlet. When I stopped to remove the plug, the cable had stretched a bit and one prong was already about halfway out, quite a bit of stress on the cable and prongs. Unplugged - Now nothing, won't move. Have 39V at solenoid, and hearing clicks when moving drive lever from F to R. Tried all the basics - Key on and off, disconnect and reconnect battery. Wondering if stretching shorted wires inside charge cable, thus shorting something electrical in cart? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Not sure the Melex 512 has a reed switch like the Ezgo? If so you have an extra small wire coming out of the back of the charge receptacle.
Does the solenoid click when you try to go?

Do not have a small wire out of the charge receptacle, just pos and neg cables to batteries. Solenoid does not click at all - This is my first cart, shouldn't there be some sort of fuse somewhere in case of a short? What protects the electrical system?

if you are getting voltage at the cable side of the solenoid, check to make sure you are getting voltage at the pin side, (small post on what would be the front of the solenoid. you should only have voltage when you press on the pedal. I would unhook the wire, connect the positive to it then ground to the negative on the battery stack, see what you get. other than a possible blown fuse you are going to have to chase this out thru the wire harness looking for voltage all the way out to the motor.

Good luck.
