Default 1988 EZGO that don't

I was given another cart, in decent shape cosmetically, poor mechanically.
I like the 2 strokes, and feel it is the way to go. I do have a 420 clone with some mods, but think the Fuji will be fast & fun.

Case halves had orange tube-a-gasket, rod has "Rocket" cast in, standard bore, so I'm guessing it was rebuilt. Poorly. Housing and starterator bolts were missing, lots of bailing wire. Shroud had killed much of the fan, and oil inj pump wasn't engaged. Killed the top end.

1988 was the "High Performance" 2PG, so they're a blast once together ... The downside is the key parts for the HP are expensive IE Exhaust, etc. Pretty much all the other stuff You're going to need (fan, top end kit, etc) are cross-compatible with the 244 2pG and they're relatively easy to work on.

That said, what the HECK did they do to that thing, LOL ?!?! Let us know why it's almost 15 degrees off from where it should be, that's really weird

Haaa, that's just the shroud, that wasn't bolted down, along with the S/G plate. Most of the mount bolts were in and intact, engine lined up fine.

The exhaust has a hole in the top of the can, and the bracket issue, but otherwise decent. I'll likely do some thing different with the exhaust, any way.

An oil pump that wasn't engaged and a fan all blowed-up, makes for a bad time.

So, a single cylinder, from another Fuji engine, with 18mm pin, 60mm stroke, similar-looking stud pattern, and a belt-driven water pump that attaches directly to the cylinder... I'd lose 25cc or so, but there should be some fun gains and use my 88 2PG bottom end. Then my fragged fan and housing would be irrelevant.

Sh*t - I've been looking for one of those 3-spark-plug golf cart motors for awhile now, LOL

How good are your fab skills?

Fair... https://www.facebook.com/pages/FireP...=photos_stream

I'm not looking to be greedy, just considering using ONE of the L/C jugs

But,,,I was eying the 488cc Fuji, double-lung big sister to the EZGO mill. I think I could swap the clutch end and first porkchop for the cart one on to the 2x crank, so drive should be easy-ish. The ignition trigger method has me stalled, briefly.

It looks like the stock setup fires some angle before TDC, and again after TDC? If not a double-spark, how does the system know to trigger red or blue?

I see reference to 18/21 for timing. Fixed? Hotrodded 2 stroke would like less to start, then more, fading to less on top, so maybe some sled bits are in order?

Reed plate is lame! I may make my own, or adapt some thing else.
