Default Another CL Special: 1974 Club Car Caroche

Got another good cart story for you guys. Guy texted me the other day in response to my "Wanted to Buy Golf Carts" ad on CL. Tells me he has an older Club Car. After the exchange of a few texts, I get pictures, determine it's a 74 Caroche, and find out he only wants $250 for it. The story was that is was running years ago and they pulled the batteries out to put in a Harley 3-Wheeler that they ended up selling. It was parked in a barn and hasn't moved since. Went and looked at it Thursday night and discover it's pretty clean. It still has the original seat backs with the "Caroche" logo in them, and the original front tires, that still hold air. An offer of $200 and it's mine. It has all new solenoids, and a new resistor board assembly. Plus he gave me all the old parts as well, and the 1974 Caroche IPL and wiring diagrams. (Already have those anyway, but it shows that they really took care of this one-owner machine). Came with a charger too. Plan for this one is to get the seat bottoms reupholstered, pull those lights, throw batteries in it and flip it for a profit (or maybe keep it, depends on how much I like it )

That's my Cushman charger, screw in fuses and all!

Cant wait to see this one progress, I see it staying in the stable.

Here are some pics as she sits

Looks like I will need some tires, as the current ones are cracked and not holding air. Other than that, looks like some brake work, batteries, recovering the seat bottoms, pulling the lights, and shining up the body

Good for you. It looks just like the one I have. They are hard to find with the nameplates attached. You can pick up some white or black inserts for a few bucks at any boat supply. My charger is different but as mentioned my cushman has the same one. How's the brakes look ?

Brakes are non-existent right now. Both sides or the axle are wet, so I think it may be the wheel cylinders

The best place to get cylinders are vintage golf cart parts. They have been on sale for $48.00 and you won't find them cheaper. They also have rebuilding kits as well. My cart is the same way and the lines are rusted bad. Keep us posted.

I was looking there and will probably get them there if I need them. That is where the PO got his parts for it
