Default Yamaha Version of Carry-All

The "Budge" is morphing again. I bought a cart for parts and it had a decent aluminum box on the back so I took it off and started attaching it too my G1.

I wanted the bed lower than the body would let it set and I'm tired of having to lift the entire body when doing anything engine wise. So I cut the front of my old body and will attach it to the frame with hinges so it will lift forward. I then began making a steel tube frame for the box to strengthen it and make it a dump bed.

I also shortened the box by a foot as it was way too long for my liking. It is now 32"x44"

I got quite a bit done today and have an idea of how it will look.

Cut this much out!

shortened the box.

Cover cut in half.

Cut off body setting on cart.

I'll of course be adding filler panels to make the bed look better and also protect the engine a bit where there is now no body.

I'll post more as I make more progress in the next few days.

I'll also be building a roll cage top for this cart once I get the bed mounted. So I'll be able to sell off my G1 top and frame.

I have altered it and the top is far from perfect, but someone may want an almost original G1 top!

What are you going to use to fab your roll cage?

I like where your going with this. I have the original bed and baskets that came with my marathon and been thinking real hard about how to use them.

Are you going to hinge the seat pod?

Unforgiven, I saw the picture of the camo cart and thought "Where did he get a picture of this parts cart?"

I think I'll like the cart once I get done with it and have the bed on it. Much more useful I think. I'm going to use heavy wall pipe. It came out of my well when I had some work done on it. I know the pipe probably isn't ideal for a roll cage, but its what I have and I tend to re-use stuff to save $$$. But it will sure be stronger than the aluminum top frame.

New Guy, I do plan on hinging the seat section so it will fold forward like on the G2. With the bed hinged back and the seat forward I'll have good access to the engine area.

That's going to be great access to the engine compartment.

Great idea for making a work horse of a cart. I was hoping to do something similar to mine next summer.

I think I'll have a good cart once I'm done. Should do about anything I want to do.

I got the dump bed frame made, hinges made and bed mounted. The hinges I made work well and the dump bed fits and lifts great. I'm one step closer too getting the cart back together.

I got pictures taken but will have to wait to post them.
