A Legend cart in my own back yard. '
Well I gave into the temptation and went and got the Legend cart this afternoon. For 75 dollars,I couldn't go wrong.
And the kicker is, it is basically NOS !! 2 new carts were bought by a fellow that had 2 employees that wanted them but they never came up with the money to pay him back. The carts stayed in the barn until the old man died and his sons pushed them out in the weather and offered them for sale.I heard about them but the price I was quoted at that time was to high. A friend that runs a antique and junk store bought them. He fixed the 1 that did not have a roof and let his dad use it. He left this 1 pushed to the side and quoted me 400 bucks on it when I ask. I wanted it but just could not come off that much money for something I did not need. Well he quoted me a price of 75 bucks and I went and got it. It still has the Trojan 90 battery's in it.The seat backs are rotted but the vinyl and foam are good so i can deal with that easy.I will have to repaint the frame and front end and such as it has surface rust on it. there is a handy strap under the seat to go around the steering wheel to hold the seat up while servicing the cart. The little teats are still on the tires but they are dry rotted bad and the backs will not hold air. I will get some wheels and tires from a local car dealer that pulls the stock wheels for his "conversions". I love the gold trim. This is the only cart I ever saw that has that. From what i can tell, very little info is out there other than a link someone shared on my other thread asking questions about this cart. |

The batteries are worth 15-18 dollars. So you got your money back!

Yea, I will take another set for cores and get some of the 12 volt agm battery's in the coming weeks for the cart. The guy i get those from allows me about 12 a piece on these cart batterys. I may check the junk yard and see what they give and just pay him his 30 apiece. may come out cheaper.
I just can't help but think about maby saving 1 of these batterys since they are old and original and have the little floater things to keep a check on the fluid. I am going to price hubcaps for it to. |

Uh, that is why i can't afford fancy golf carts! That is yet another project.
1947 Streamliner Inline 6 Rusted out floor boards and such. Yes on the gold hubcaps. found some on ebay! Aint bought them yet. Went by the place this morning to see about some wheels and tires and he didnt have any decent 1's. Edit, I have the old battery's out. All were busted and had leaked. So the battery trays have some rust but nothing beyond cleaning and painting. I can't seem to figure out the key situation. A stock Ez-go key fits in the switch but will not turn it. No numbers for reference to order a key or whatever. I have not priced a key switch to see if it would be cheaper to replace the switch or have a key made at a lock smith to fit this 1. |

You need to look for some gold colored hubcaps.

You need 6 volt batteries for that cart, not 12 volt batteries

Heck of a great find for 75 bucks. Looks to be in really good shape shouldn't take to much to get the old girl running like new. Gotta agree with rib though you need to go with 6 volt batteries 12 volt won't give you the run time that 6 volt will. More lead more run time.

I agree...6- 6 volts. And note, AGM batteries require a special charger. Mo money...Mo money Just buy an Ezgo ignition switch and be done with it.

That cart looks related to an EZGO, the seat and pedals look similar...
