Flintrock's G9
First Time Long Time Pic Poster
'93 G9 in process of boring .050 over, Jakes list, 22x9x10 tires (Mike's take-off's) home-made stencils, rattle-can Fusion and a lot of body work, frame sanded and painted, under-coated everywhere except exterior, over-length Rhino shocks which neccessitated the custom front lift extension (like Ron's). Two+ years and one job lay-off in the making! Also in progress: dirt bike muffler, semi-custom front brush guard w/lights and receiver tube, flat steel 4" "roll bar" w/conduit bemini top and rear lights, tube side step bars and antique rear bumber hitch off '63 Impala. Have parts, bender and welder, need a little more time! |

Re: Flintrock's G9
NICE!! How do the Rhino shocks feel? I thought they might be too stiff.

Nice work. Cart looks good. I would like to know how the Rhino shocks ride as well.

Re: Flintrock's G9
I can't tell you yet. Hasn't run since I've had them on! The extra weight from the metal accessories yet to be built and the winch should help unspring it, and there will be some big guys on it. Hope to know by the end of next week..........

Re: Flintrock's G9
Had a typo on that! It's a Jakes 6", seemed to be the best available for the right amount of money. The shocks are Yamaha takeoff's that are 2" longer than stock so my rear end sat too high! Fabbed the front brackets to even it out, still needs a little more support but I'm going to weld a plate on those for a front receiver tube.

Looks good. I'm thinking maybe a 5 inch?? I don't want to go too high. Keep us informed. The pics are good.

Re: Flintrock's G9
I went 6", closest to a full travel w/o the major bucks. Mine is higher now because of the shocks, is probably closer to 9". I researched pretty hard and I think the Jake's products are top notch, at least for these older Yamaha's. Get yours lifted, put a receiver hitch on the front or back with an electric corn feeder so you don't have to feed Bambi's by hand!
