Default Custom Steering Wheel, Pro's & Con's ?

Hey Buggie Fans, I'm thinking about getting a new custom steering wheel for my TXT but wanted to check with you guys and see what your thoughts are.
It appears that most of the adapters are fairly tall so does that make a custom wheel sit higher up and if so does it make it harder to get in and out of the cart ?
Also it looks like most of the grips are either rubber or vinyl, do the rubber grips get sticky in the hot summer time ?
Thanks, your input is Very much appreciated !

I have a custom wheel on my TXT. It is plastic and aluminum. No worries about the weather (temp). Didn't affect position relative to driving position.

There are lots of options. Don't confine yourself just to golf cart suppliers. One example is Forever Sharp. Mostly for cars but they have adapters for the 3 major golf cart brands and many UTV's.

Standard wheel on an EZGO is 14". Some of the after market wheels are 12.5". If you get the smaller wheel you will notice it. Not necessarily bad but it is different. I will be going back to a 14" wheel. Feels better to me.

FWIW: EZGO makes a "premium" wheel. I have seen them on a lot of RXV's but no TXT's. You can buy them from EZGO (not cheap). They are the same 14" diameter but a much thicker rim. To me, a much better feel. Still ugly.

Some good looking wheels on here! Crash, I'll take one in yellow.

Bravo, to answer your question, I've driven several with the 12" diameter and I kind of prefer the feel of the stock diameter wheel.

Kernal, Thanks for the info ! I guess EZGO uses several different size wheels as my TXT is a 2013 and it's 13" diameter.

Crash, your Madjax Looks Great !!
Does your adapter actually fit down over the steering column a few inches ?
It was my understanding that they bolted right to the top of the column, that's why I thought that the custom wheel would be much higher than the stocker.
Does your wheel have a vinyl grip ?

TLsapp, That's a good looking wheel too !

93 Yellow, Thanks for the info !
Most of the custom wheels that I'm interested in are a 13" diameter and since my factory wheel is the same size they will work out perfectly.
The smaller size wheels reminds me of when I was much younger and I put a 12" steering wheel on my car, man was it hard to turn corners. Lol.......

I think the big difference people notice when they go smaller is just like you said, it is harder to turn the tires, especially if the cart has larger wheels and tires. Old cars had those big ole 2 foot steering wheels for a reason.
