My First Cart
Just completed the initial customization on my 2008.5 48v Electric Club Car Precedent.
Here's the grocery list of my add-ons: HD rear leaf springs. 1/2' front spring spacer to clear the 215-40-12's. Line-X top & underside of original tan roof. DoubleTake color-matched front and rear seat assemblies. MadJax 30a converter. Blue Sea 6 circuit fuse block w/ neutral bus. LEDGlow million color underbody kit. Digital voltage gauge. Harley Davidson Dyna 3 position key. Custom aluminum key bezel. DoubleTake Extreme color-matched dash. Stainless column cover sleeve. Color-matched sport steering wheel. Stainless steel fasteners wherever possible. And, of course, my crowning achievement and own personal touch...SS badging on the side panels. I haven't seen this done on a cart before, so for now it is my own little signature item. Thanks to all for the help here on the forums. I never would have gotten it right without your patient responses to my rookie questions. Will probably start another cart for my buddy sometime in the coming months. Hoping to make it through the summer without the modification bug hitting me again on this one...we'll see about that, I guess. |

Re: My First Cart
I can't seem to add more than one picture to a post from my iPad and the one I did is turned sideways for some reason, so I guess I'll post more pics from the PC later.

Re: My First Cart
I hadn't put the SS on yet in the 2 pics I just posted, but they are on either side in the lower molding just forward of the Ingersoll Rand badging. You can see the SS (albeit sideways) in my photo in the first post. The SS badging I used is from a modern Camaro grill. I'm still having trouble posting pics that aren't sideways, so I'll take some new ones today and get them up later.

Re: My First Cart
I'm not sure if this helps (picture wise) but it's worth a shot! (pun intended!)

Re: My First Cart
You're definitely onto something, Lockman. I haven't had trouble with picture rotation until yesterday. I was erroneously blaming the iPad last night when, in fact, I realized the most recent batch of pics were taken with the iPhone. iPad retakes happening today.

Re: My First Cart
Couldn't help but tinker just a bit more before calling it quits. I love the DoubleTake Extreme Dash, but once I put my fuse block in one side and the control box for the LEDglow underbody light show in the other, I didn't like being able to see the components through the dash access holes to the storage bins. Since the dash comes with a huge locking storage bin right up front and center, I decided to come up with a way to close off those openings. 3 beers later and a bit of head scratching led me to an aha moment. I had the bottom tray to an old pet crate sitting up in the rafters of my garage and the material and texture are a dead-on match to the dash. After 30 minutes of arts and crafts time with a paper tracing followed by a cardboard template, I was ready to go. I cut the panels out with my jig saw and mounted them in with some stainless tap screws for future access and couldn't be happier.
