Project "Negative Equity"
Well here she goes... As the title suggests I will spend way more on my '12 RXV than I could ever get back out of it, But I really don't plan to I'll most likely keep it around for the kids. Boys getting interested in Go-Kart Racing so it might become a pit cart...
Right now it's all stock aside from a Jakes 6" spindle lift, 12" wheels 22" tires and Freedom Mode. Needs new batteries first off since she wont even move right now. Plans: New set of batteries 14" Black Wheels 22" or 23" tires Black roof Paint Black and Red or Orange or CAMO not sure yet but it will be all Matte finish. What do ya'll think? New seat covers Black Rear flip seat Black Finish cable upgrade to 4ga All lights etc for street legal Lots of LED's and a few strobes Brush guard Dash kit Stereo with a sub and dedicated battery in bag well "I don't golf!" High speed gear "I can get 26 right now" Rear wheel spacers as they need to match the front... Fender flares And I'm sure much more...... Here's how she sits right now after a good wash to start with a "clean" slate. Will post many pics as the build progresses. And after I pushed her back into where she will be for a bit... |

Re: Project "Negative Equity"
Sounds like a good plan. I also think it may need some front end tweaking from the look of the front passenger side tire.
I understand everyone wants bigger and bigger tire/wheel combos but why not stay with the 12's and just go with a little taller tire? You'd save a little money for the other upgrades by doing so. And those wheels are good looking wheels and look good on the cart already and the black will go good with any of the colors your talking about. I look forward to seeing the progress! |

Re: Project "Negative Equity"
While you are spending money, I agree, skip the wheel/tire upgrade and spend the money on a Lithium Pack instead of new lead acid batts & wheels/tires. No more acid and lots more power.

Re: Project "Negative Equity"
Thanks for the ideas. I'm not sure what's up with that wheel. The drivers side is flat. Here's a pic from right after I lifted it. The tow was off and still may be off. I think that tire being flat is making the passenger tire look more cambered in. My employees kept driving it with a low tire so that tire is worn un even as well.
The current wheels were pretty rough so I just plasti dipped them. I like the look of the bigger wheel so I'll probably just sell these cheap after I get new ones. |

Re: Project "Negative Equity"
What can I do to fix it if they still look off even after setting the tow and new tires? I don't see any adjustments aside from a BFH...

Re: Project "Negative Equity"
I don't know how you adjust that setup. I've not messed with any other than Yamaha with it's A-arm setup. Do the tires look like they angle in at the top compared to the bottom angling out? If not, then perhaps you can just do some toe in adjustment to get away from the tire wear. Air pressure level can cause wear too, but it's usually more than just the inside edge. From the picture with the wet tires it appears that the tires do angle in at the top. Again, I'm not sure what the answer is on that one. Unless perhaps there may be some play in the kingpin area of the spindle lift.
It's hard waiting on parts to work on projects, especially when it's major parts that are holding your build up. |
