1983 Royal Ride
Hi Everyone..I just purchased a 1983 Royal Ride golf cart.My intent is to keep her original,as they are really such a cool cart (IMO!).It is missing the hood ornament, and I saw on a previous thread that replacements may be available.Does anyone know where to get them? Also.the chrome headlight rims have a little surface rust that I may be able to buff out,to minimize, but I would prefer a pair that don't have rust.Would anyone know where to purchase a pair of really nice headlight rims,or what their replacement part might be? ..Thank you!

Re: 1983 Royal Ride
Would like to find a good original set of the wheel covers-plain disc with "R" in the center.

Re: 1983 Royal Ride
Hi there! I have had several royal rides, you can see my threads. I am also in south florida. Post some pics of your cart I would love to see it.
As far as hood ornaments, you can get the exact replacement. Elmco used an eagle hood ornament that looks like the picture below. Just go on ebay and type in eagle hood ornament and look for one that looks exactly like the one below. You can compare prices as there will be several listings. If you want to go all out and make it like a rolls royce like I have done on some of mine I have an extra rolls royce ornament I will sell you, just PM me. as far as the wheel covers, just choose a set that you like and then have RR stickers made. Thats how the originals were made. they are usually 2.5" in diameter. |

That's a cool cart.
Try a brillo pad on that rusty chrome. Dunk it in water and scrub away. Brillo cleans rust off chrome really well. |

Thanks,Topherandtick-I'll try that!!....just got through using a buffer on the bumpers-brought them to a pretty high gloss-seems they are some sort of aluminum that responded well to a good buffing.

Welcome to the club!! Love the white walls.
Parts for the "Royal Ride" portion of the cart are almost impossible to find. The "cart part" is all standard club car stuff. Golf cart man is right about the hood ornament. Have fun with it. |
