My '04 Shuttle 2+2 (Series DC)
I picked up this cart by trading my son's old swing set and a few other outdoor kids toys.
The cart came with a lift kit (I'll probably need help identifying this at some point) and 23x10.5x12 tires. I was going to wait until I upgraded the power before ordering new wheels/tires, but I gashed a tire last night and it's not repairable. I went ahead and ordered a set of 22" on-road tires and new wheels. I'll take a picture of those once I have them installed next week. My first mod/repair was to replace the key switch with a new switch, since the old one was toast. It would turn with just a flat blade screwdriver. I also replaced the factory meter with a digital volt meter. Not that either one is really all that useful, but this one looks better. I'm not sure what my plans are, other than I am going to change from a black/white color scheme to a black/blue color scheme. At some point I'd like to see how much I could lower it on the big 22" tires. The black body panels are recently replaced and look brand new, so I might as well stick with those. But for now, my next repair will be to repair the brake pedal since it has collapsed and the brake lights do not work. I'm using this to drive on the street, so brake lights, and possibly turn signals are important. Once that is fixed I'll install the new controller (SR48500) that I ordered from scottyb. |

Posting from my iphone and I can't figure out how to upload more than one image into a post, so here is the picture of the Volt meter and new key switch.

Looks Good! Are you interested in selling your old 12" wheels and tires? If so send me a PM.

Sending you a PM. I'm interested in selling, but not looking forward to shipping these things.
I rebuilt the brake pedal today, but still had no brake lights. I found that the little wiring harness between the main harness and brake pedal switch had corroded so badly that there was no solid connection. So I repaired that and still no brake lights. I started checking out the harness near the rear lights and found more corrossion in the drivers side. On the passenger side the lights were wired incorrectly. Fixed both of those issues and now I have working taillight and brake lights! I like making progress. Due to some rust on the bottom of the chassis I may take this completely apart in the future and replace the rusted metal. If I do that I'm going to swap in a new harness. This harness is just going to keep giving me issues with the amount of corrossion that I'm finding in the connectors. |

New tires and wheels.
These are an inch smaller in diameter, and a little skinnier. Regardless of that I was able to maintain my speed of 16mph. They're considerably lighter so I hope to get better runtime out of the motor as well. |
