Yamaha G2 Winter Project
Just got this 95 Yamaha G2 cart. Lots of plans for this winter on it.
Plans:
The real project will be doing an engine swap. I either want to go with a motorcycle or snowmobile swap. Still undecided on which. I plan on using the cart's rear end. We will only be riding the cart around the town we live in, mainly on roads and flat grounds. I know other people swap builds have got their carts up to 50mph range with using the stock rear end. Honestly, the only reason for an engine swap is just to have the most unique/possibly fastest cart in the neighborhood. Any recommendations/opinions on which type of engine swap? I am leaning more towards motorcycle swap just to have gears. Snowmobile swap would have more simplicity in it for others to drive. I will be posting more pictures as the build continues! |

How's the engine noise on yours? Wanting to keep it still quite while riding around the neighborhood. Both options seem like they would run high rpms.

Re: Yamaha G2 Winter Project
Update:
Picking this 1994 Yamaha R6 up today. Decided to go with motorcycle swap on the cart. Couldn't pass this deal up, complete bike runs good. Will sell frame and other parts after using the stuff I need. Got other plans for the cart first before the engine swap. But at least ill have the engine already to start planning! Will be getting more pictures of cart this weekend. Going to take body off and degrease/clean the 20+ year old dirt () on frame/engine. |
