Re: 97 ezgo txt
First few items ordered is a new battery tray since the old one rotted out and broke in half.
Also ordered a back seat and heavy duty leaf springs. Got the body off the cart and man is it dirty under there. Jacked it up to have a better inspection underneath and it's not the prettiest Looks like I need to invest in some Por15? I've never used it before and I don't know if the rust and Rot is to bad for me to even use it. Any input would be great. |

Re: 97 ezgo txt
That's the issue with electric carts!
I just picked up an 2007 electric cart and it was almost as bad as yours. I spent $25 at the quarter wash then turned the cart over and spent a day with a 4'' grinder and a wire wheel. Need to get everything clean to see what you have and have good clean metal to weld to. Battery box and small brackets can be made and welded in. No big deal! If your just going to use this cart around camp grounds and not an off road cart Even the main frame can be reinforced if needed, With some angle iron. Good luck, let us see your progress, |

Re: 97 ezgo txt
Welcome to BGW!
From the pix you posted your carts drivetrain is referred to as a DCS and the cart has regenerative braking on downhill grades. Also, the rear chassis area indicates a Medalist cart, not a TXT. Although they are mechanically the same beast under the bodywork, Medalist carts are a touch older than TXT carts. Someone has replaced the OEM metal bodywork with a newer TXT plastic set. |

Re: 97 ezgo txt
As posted 1997 DCS = good find. Patch her up and drop an XCT48400DCS controller and 200 amp solenoid in it for some fun

I have about 4 months to get it back together, so I am going to make sure I get all the rust off and get down to good metal. Hopefully I don't bite more off than I can chew haha |

I am still totally new to the cart world so I still need to do my homework on these carts. May I ask, what gave it away that it was a Medalist cart from the rear chassis area? That may explain why some of the body parts were missing some rivets. Without knowledgeable people like you I would have no clue about this! |
