New Yamaha G2
Picked up a cart in relatively good shape with good compression. Of course my son in law who is a master diesel mechanic called it an "old man's golf cart". I couldn't take that sitting down so here we go! New tires and wheels, 4" lift, modified the muffler to relieve the restriction, repainted, rewire, new lights, installed a K&N air filter, re-jetted the carb, new belts, new gas pump, and installed a power spring in the secondary clutch. Runs good and sounds good, although my wife thinks it is a bit noisy. All I have left is to install the stereo, put some trim back on, and install a roof cargo rack. There is still some tweaking to do on the carb jet and voltage regulator, but that's easy. I sold my 1927 T-bucket and needed another project, although this isn't near as fast or loud. This site was a great help, I pretty much read all the threads having to do with the Yamaha gas carts. Being a retired master millwright myself I went into this build with a plan and stuck to it. I am pleased with the results. We can use it around town as they are allowed and we can take it to the coast to run the beach. Now, if my wife would just let me find another project. HMMMMMMM!

Re: New Yamaha G2, Update
Had to install a new clutch when the old one self destructed! Also swapped out the power spring in the secondary clutch for a umax spring. I like the umax spring much better, still have low end torque and increased top end by one to two mph.
