My $772 golf cart!
Its raining and I'm inside today so I thought I would post some pic's of what I have been working on. Some before and after, so far pic's
At this point I have $772 in this cart but still need to rebuild engine, brakes and new rear seats. But probably have 200 hr's labor! LOL Every nut and bolt has been apart cleaned, painted or replaced. the paint and clear coat is 2014 Corvette with LOTS of metallic in it! Found some really good deals on Craig's list for the parts! Its a 1996 TXT, body from a 2003,dash 04, top off an 06 and the front end is off an ST work horse. Hella driving lights and 3/4 LED's in the roof for tail lights. made rocker panels from some steel off a meat case,LOL probably $100 in new nut + bolts. Had no plans on going this far with this cart, but it was cold outside and before I knew it I had it in a pile of pieces! LOL |

No man, a dishwasher is a great way to clean a block! Especially if you don't have a hot water high pressure washer! You painted the carriage before you finished the mechanicals? Bold move! What are the tires? REALLY cool for a street cart, I'll bet they ride good too!

Re: My $772 golf cart!
Oh man!!! About 20 years ago I hot coated some exhaust manifolds in the kitchen oven. Little did I know that they would give off toxic smoke. Every time my wife has a couple glasses of wine at a party, I have to relive that screw up.

Did the oven cure the manifolds properly?

I started out just to clean the frame and before I knew it I had the frame down to bare metal LOL. So I went ahead and shot it. The tires came on the cart, Excel/lawnpro 22x1100x8. My son is going to use the cart to take the grand kids back and forth to the pool in his neighborhood, They look like they will ride good on the pavement. Not sure about the sidewall roll in curves. |
