Yamaha Umax Build
Ok...Seems I'm tired of reading and getting excided about all your guy's new projects. This Umax will be lifted, but felt more members would look here. You think "Wilson" started ugly.....Lets "light this candle"! I have no idea if the engine is good or not (no problem to rebuild it) some parts are missing (once again, no problem there) most body parts are sound. The cart was used as a range picker and busted and mangeled the main frame at the bends leading to the lower control arms. Sorry to say I couldn't put a "splice" tube in and weld ( "NO" an ATV front grafting is not in the works or budget). Had to take off all the components to alow for some flexing/proding/heating/come alonging ect...to get the tubes and frame members in a realistic position. Once "tach" welded I will either find some "ID" tubing to match the "OD" of the frame tubing, cut it in half and "wrap" it around the frame and reweld or just see how it "fits' and welds togeather and do some "triangulared" gusset's to strengthen it up. As for lift's/tire combo's/engine mod's/running gear/body and "box" mod option's....you will just have to check in from time to time. Here's some pic's. Later Dave

I knew it wouldn't take you long to get another one going. Lots of cool builds going on, we all know this will be a good one! I'll be watching. Nice job on the frame.

Re: Yamaha Umax Build
Way to go Dave! Got you a new toy to play with. Looks like a nice fix on the frame. When I saw the first couple of photos I wondered was that frame rusted or busted? Then I saw your fix and realized it was both! Nice recovery. Now what kind of crazy body work are you planning for this one? Hood scoop for the big block? Dualies under the rear? Hydraulics? Maybe a bobble head chewawa for the dash? LOL J/K. I did not think you would be able to stay away from some sort of build very long, but you went longer than I thought, Keep the pics coming and the dreams building.
