9. Mode Lock 3
10. Jakes long travel kit
11. Tires and wheels
12. Paint body
13. Recover seats
14. See if it works and then go from there

Got the cart broke down. I took pictures of most things as I was taking them apart, I wish I would have taken more. Everything came apart easy enough but I found a lot more rust than I expected.

Called a local shop for sandblasting. They said it would start at $400.00 and could be more because of the powder coating. I tried using "aircraft remover" and do it myself. The aircraft remover worked but it would have taken 15-20 hours of a beating to get it all off. My neighbor told me about another shop, called them and they knocked it out for $100.00. Wish I would have started with them and saved the first 8 hours! I didn't take a pic after they sandblaster and before I painted it but it looked good!

My neighbor owns a paint and body shop. He sprayed the POR15 on the frame. Looks a lot better!

Started with the lift kit, tires and wheels. Found wheels and tires set on Facebook for $300. Tires are 23x10.5x12 which is what jakes recommended. Kit was easy to install with YouTube video from jakes. Ran into trap problems with the kit
1. Holes on spacer that goes between the steering gear and main assembly didn't line up. The part was machined wrong.
2. Outer tie rod end had a cut in the protective boot.
I sent an email to jakes and didn't hear back. I then called customer service and waited on hold for 20 mins till I finally talked to someone. She said she would have someone look at it and let me know. A week after that I called again to find out what was going on and they had not worked on a resolution. They did say they would put another order in and send a new spacer and tie rod end. That was last week and I am waiting on the parts now.

Once your issues are resolved, that is gonna be a nice looking cart when you are done.

Perry, looks like you have a great plan, and are doing it right, and doing a great job.

I built a similar cart for my nephew a few months ago.

Nice work. In the end, you will be happy you took it all the way down before the rebuild.

Wow, that is going to look great when finished. And you'll learn a lot tearing it down like that. Nice work so far!!
