Default Ghosterdude's 1999 Ike Club Car Chaos

OK, Here is the place! I will be posting my 99 club car rebuild here. I bought it 3/10/09 for $150. The first pic is it loaded on the trailer. (Note: I bought it from a guy in Galveston who has a bunch of flooded carts..see other posts) I got it home, squeezed it into the garage and started the dissassemble. I am not a perfectionist, so I will try to do everything on this cart slowly and not be myself. I am really impressed with what some of you have done. I will try to fight the "Bull in a China Shop" urges that I have. Anywho 2 days and many drinks later this is what I have done. Stay tuned.

Glad you have the body off...finally. Since I can't be there it will be good to see the progress here. Try the "Mag Etch" product on the alluminum frame and parts.

OK pulled the engine...WHOAAA! Nasty! check it out!

I am looking for the best way to go on rewire and re engine. I want to bypass or delete the Club car computer and go with a 36/48 AfterMarket charger. Is there a diagram of a wiring scheme that Omits the NONessential stuff? Just wondering.

Also, the number is A9911. This means it is a ds electric? What is the difference between this and regen? I understand the 99=1999 and the 11 means the 11th week of the year. Now I am gonna have to buy all new stuff and I want to make sure I get what will work...Or Better!!! vvrrooomm!

OK after a good weekend of tearing down the rest of the cart I have come across a dilemma...or maybe not. I have to replace everything. It is a 99 regen 2 48v. Can I bolt a series motor to a regen 2 transaxle. I would like to swap the entire cart to series and I was wondering if I could? IF I have to buy a new transaxle I am just going to call it and go back to stock regen 2 with a hefty sum of money and no upgrades. I am finding trouble getting any upgrades(speed, torque) if I staywith a regen system. Also, It seems that this is the time to simplify. Anyone got advice? Is this doable??? Remember everything that has electricity going thru it will be replaced anyway. GIVE IT TO ME!!!

OK people! HELP!!! here are the specs

A9911-751559 (1999 CC DS regen 2)

the original motor in question is part 101854501, 3.2 HP

the new motor is part 102240102, 3.2 Special Service

1. can any motor that bolts to the transaxle and is a 3.2-3.4 be used?

2. I want to use the IQ motor and it bolts up fine (found a cheap used one in perfect condition!) can I (It does have the pigtail of course.)?

3. What does Special Service mean? (the original motor does not say special service BUT, the new one does)

I am gonna buy a 400 amp programmable controller from a site sponsor!!!!!! I am feeleing lost and I do not wanna order parts that don't work. I am finding out that the regen 2 is a finicky little mistress. Some are saying not worth the time. I say "NOT!"
Thanks!
