Default Unimpressed with Wetsounds AS-6, recommendations?

Installed in an Onward

Wetsounds Steath 10 ultra HD sound bar with their 6inch powered sub the AS-6. The sub is mounted under the rear seat in the storage area behind the storage cover.

The sound bar is ok, and the AS-6 is underwhelming. The output is dismal, and it can't be heard in the cart at moderate listening levels and distorts if turned up to any volume to be heard. I am not looking to turn heads, just wanting a full sound.

Any recommendations for a replacement that fits under the seat and behind the storage cover? I'm under the assumption I will need to make my own sealed enclosure for a larger driver and an amp to find the full sound I am looking for.

Man stinks to hear the AS-6 isn't sounding good - for that price is should be insane.

I've got a Stealth as well and have it connected to a small sub mounted on my 'engine compartment' cover. I've used Pyle Hydra's in the past which sound pretty good, but they only last about 6-8 months. Right now I'm running a Jensen JMPSW800 8" Sub Woofer 200 Watt Marine with Powered amp. It's nice and small, sounds great so far and seems to be sealed and protected MUCH better then the pyle.

What are you running sound through - bluetooth or direct input?

I also had an 8” bazooka tube that sounded pretty good. Just sold it to a neighbor and he loves it.

A six inch driver is going to have a tough time moving a lot of air, especially in an open environment like a golf cart. I think that you're going to need a bigger driver in an enclosure that is properly designed, with a fairly beefy amplifier behind it.

I wonder if one of the Rockford all in one subs would work? I have a big 12" one in my little car - it's too big for a golf cart, but they make smaller models, I think. You may have to get a little creative.

I prefer the THOR soundbars. I've heard both sizes at Redhawk and they're pretty solid units overall.

i got the stealth ultra hd 10 and the 10" sub and the sound bar isn't bad but the sub isn't great. Hopefully once i get it all mounted and try to dial it in it will get better. Too much money for not enough out of it so far.

E36 Do you have any pictures when you had i mounted? Did you just have in in the bacgwell? or did it fit between the front and back seat? Just curious? What kind of head unit and dash do you have?

I had the tube mounted underneath where the back rests mount. Only Precedents have the room there for it. I unfortunately I don’t have pics. But if you look at the box I made, it was mounted right there, with the straps bolted right to the top side of the underbody tub. It may fit between the back rest mounts up top, but I never tried it. I’m using the Bluetooth kenwood amp instead of a traditional head unit.
