The Officially Official Build of “Leon”
Most of you know me from the build I have been working on for six years, the Cougar Scooter. Work continues on that, but I got lucky and had a Club Cart DS that flooded during Irma given to me and I just picked it up.
I named it “Leon” because it is the last name of the family that gave it to me, and “LEON” is plastered on the front cowl with mailbox letters. Also you’ll see the silicone caulk body repair. The cart is trashed, but salvageable. I think the batteries may come back as they look fairly new and I’m getting power out of them even though they haven’t been hooked up to a charger since last summer. 7.6 volts each. |

Re: The Officially Official Build of “Leon”
Can’t start a project without tinker Tuesday! Started tearing it apart and figuring out what it needs.
Many beers consumed and we came up with a million directions this could go. - a hearse with an Elco Royal Ride front end. Satin black with flicker flame bulbs in torchieres in the sail panels. - a woody wagon done surf/ tiki style with an old style front end. Surf green with real wood panels and an old car front end (im partial to the 52 Chevy truck and the 49 lead sled fronts). Steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps painted body color - a flip. I do the bare minimum to get it running and make money on it. |

Oh and there’s the other option. Turn the rear into a trailer with two more seats. Find the same body and weld a tongue to it.

Re: The Officially Official Build of “Leon”
Alright, probably getting ahead of myself but couldn’t resist this purchase on EBay- a new old stock radio faceplate for an unknown ‘40’s Car. Fits perfectly with my plans. This will look excellent on a wooden dash with vintage gauges and a vintage radio that I will hollow out and put modern electronics inside. Will be cool to retrofit with green leds in all the gauges and the radio dial to make it look antique.
Besides, it was only $15! |
