'77 EZGO 2 Stroke Cart Rebuild - Father/Son Project

My Dad brought this cart to my house a few months back with the intention of restoring this cart and gifting it to a family member to get around his property due to his failing health. He didn't have the room to get to it right away and initially it was going to be a quick turn-around to make it a useful cart. Unfortunately it never did make it to my uncle before he passed, but it gave us an opportunity to put a little extra care into the restoration.

After a thorough cleaning it got a coat of primer.



Fresh out of the paint booth with new headlights.



WIP shot of the tilt bed mounting setup.



The new console. I got to put my wife's Cricut vinyl cutting machine to work here.



I just polished the back of the center panel. The opposing side is still factory fresh.



Some lathe practice here. I made a new bung for the gas tank fill tube. The previous solution was to wrap it in dozens of layers of teflon tape and jam it down in there.

As it sits now, it really just needs a few paint touch ups.







My home-made latch setup using old ink-jet printer rods, springs, and a brass handle.



Our nifty little way to catch the dump bed in the down position.

Thanks, guys. It was a good time fixing this one up but I'm anxious for some time to get my garage back in order. I put a new workbench project aside for this and it's been calling to me to get finished.

Once that is done I'd be willing to take one of my Dad's other projects off his hands. As he mentioned in another thread he has a similar but different 1980-something model. I think he has a Yamaha cart, too. Not much info on that one. But the odd-ball that I am interested in is his electric limousine. I'm not sure what model (if any) it actually is but it is built like a tank.
