My first cart - refurbished '97 DS - Kansas City Chiefs cart!
Picked up this 1997 Club Car DS about 6 weeks ago, it was in reasonable shape, batteries are good and have 2 years on them. Decided to strip it down and make it my own and pay homage to my beloved Kansas City Chiefs.
The cart ran okay, but it was slower than I wanted so I replaced the motor and all associated electrical components. All body parts were removed, cleaned, rust removed, and repainted. I tried to reuse as much as I could. I used Vinyl paint to repaint the seat cushions, but they are staining very easy and the stains are not coming off, so I am going to replace the seat cushions with new white vinyl seats eventually. Also plan on adding a lift kit and 14" wheels/23" tires sometime this winter. New items include: 80" roof windshield front bumper headlights/lightbar/tail lights - all LED fender flares 500 amp Alltrax controller 400 amp solenoid HD F&R switch 2g cable set 10 hp Admiral A1 motor 48V to 12V reducer USB charger horn Here are some before and after photos, I'm very happy with how it turned out! |

Do they still do the "chiefs and chopper" price chopper commercials? Lol. I grew up near KC then moved to the south to get away from that white stuff that comes in the winter time.
Nice job on the seats did you order those or have them done locally? |

Not sure about the commercials I moved south as well! I painted the seats with vinyl spray paint and my wife made the vinyl decals using her Siloheutte craft cutter
