Need Help Identifying -Golf & Country by Western
I just bought this cart and I need assistance from the more experienced members to correctly identify it.
Here is what I know. The serial on the frame is 300507683 This indicates it is a Series 300 but from which Decade? 80's, 90's 2000's? I don't know it is a 6x6 36-volt system. Cart runs well and seems to have been well maintained. The guy I bought it from was no help as he bought it second hand and was just wanting it gone. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking adding link to images on photobucket http://s1149.photobucket.com/user/ha...0and%20Country |

Looks like a western from the early 90's it appears to be on an ezgo marathon frame based on under the seat pictures. I would say somewhere between a 1990-1994.

Would you think it is a Model 300 built in May of 1990? Or is it a Model 300 built in July of 1995? Please advise which way to decipher the serial as I am going to order some suspension parts. Thanks again Jim |

Re: Need Help Identifying -Golf & Country by Western
when I spoke to western back when I was first buying these carts they told me it usually is the first 3 numbers are the model of western that you have, the next 2 numbers are the month and year the cart was manufactured.
I would wait for someone else to chime in on suspension parts but what I do know is sometimes the frames were used from say 1994 but the cart wasn't built with the custom body by western until later sometimes even a year later so they would call a cart with a 94 frame a 95 so that is a possibility in your case here but someone else will hopefully recognize the frame and help you out. To me it looks like a marathon which I believe were no longer made after 1994. suspension wise though I cannot tell you personally if there would be any difference if it were a 1990 or a frame from say 1994 but built by western in 1995. Under the seat, the floor board and the pedals are a dead giveaway its a marathon to me but maybe someone will help us out suspension wise. |

Are there any other Items I can photograph that would assist in correctly identifying the model?

Post all the pics in the ezgo electric section and I am sure someone will confirm. What kind of suspension parts are you planning on ordering?
I will also say that I owned a 1994 Marathon several years ago and under your seat was identical to mine. |

Solid-state marathon. I would guess between 92 and 94 myself.

Thanks for your input I found some Marathon upgrade videos on youtube and I concur it is a Marathon I will go with it being a 94 marathon that was reconfigured by Western and sold in 1995 since all the clues support this. |

Yeah shocks just absorb some of the bump but the leaf springs are what help to support the cart not the shocks. So leaf springs will help you out for sure.
