There i a reason for that saying!

I blew up my first 72 volt motor when I was building my pull cart. I blew a hole the size of you thumb in it and Carson and Robby Steen @ Plum Quick and I became very good friends over night.
All my electric motor carts have Plum Quick motor's.

Thumbs up Re: My new ride!

Drove home today from the beach 5hr drive in the rain and been out working on Woodie ever since. I got all the 36 volt electronic's out pulled the carpet and rubber mat out to look at how I will mount the F/R switch. I also pulled the back plastic tray out so I can build my extra battery holder for the other 3-8 volts behind the rear end.

Well I went to bed last night @ 11pm I was back up @ 3am! Couldn't sleep so I went out and took the 36 volt stuff off the bracket and test mounted all the 72 volt stuff to the bracket. Had to drill new holes for the controller to fit flush at the bottom of the bracket. Then disassembled and painted the bracket. Installed the old 36 volt pot box arm and micro switch to the newer pot that was in the dragster, the spring was broke on the 36 volt pot. I'm sure I'll have to adjust the pot once I get it running. Later today I hope to get the battery tray area wired brushed and ready to primer plus get the F/R switch mounted in place to see what kind of bracing it will need.
I hope I get the dragster in the garage and the rear end out and the coil over off.
I took and cut a piece of black plastic to make the new dash insert with the new gauges once I get them all.

Well I spent basically the whole day on Woodie. I have almost all the battery tray work done and I got the old Ezgo rear end out of him and replaced it with my old dragster posi unit along with the 72 volt motor. This Hot Rod is going to be fast!
The Club Car rear end fit like it was made for Woodie!
I got the flange of the F/R switch mounted to the floor and cut the opening for the cables.
Tomorrow I hope to get all the tray bed lined and all the underneath done also. Then I can start working on the electronics and routing all the cables.Waiting on all my parts to show up to start the acessary wiring.

Thanks, this Hot Rod is going to be a nice addition to my fleet. I have 6 carts as of right now. I got some more plans for it last night to to even help it out a bit more in the power area but I will wait until it's confirmed before saying what it is.
Mean while here are a few before and after pictures of the tray area and the new battery tray going in aft of the rear for the 3-8 volts.

I got all the welds done and bed lined everything. I put the front parking lights on to. I even worked on the shifter a bit. I think I'm going to have to make a smaller one though!

I did a little work for Woodie tonight. I was going to watch the dual 125 but after about 10 are so laps watching them follow the leader I went out in the garage and put the controller, contactor, pot box with bracket back together along with making some coil over rear shock mounts. A friend gave me a cool accessory for Woodie. A surfboard drink opener. I plan to mount it out back so when I need a cool one!
Yea I know it's a old controller but it what I had and it's old school like Woodie.
