Default Which cart to buy?

OK, been lurking for a few weeks and still a little lost on which cart to get. Here are my needs.

Just bought 2 acres and i have extreme paved "driveways". One goes from 10% and the other nearly 22% for about 3 car lengths. I bought a used Yamaha Rhino 660 but when I go off the driveway it tears the heck out of my lawn, so I want to sell it.

I just want to use it to get older people and coolers and stuff from the house down to the lake. Also, if my kids have to get something they forgot I can run back up.

Noise isn't an issue if gas is best, we have loud boats going by all the time. I also don't plan on heavy use so keeping a charge isn't an issue either if electric is best. I would like to add a 2nd row seat or plastic bed to haul yard waste or boat supplies/tools.

I did see a post about someone has an electric and can do down and turn around on a 2:1 (22.5%) incline. That sounded interesting. I may need a small lift so I don't high center in a couple spots.

Thanks in advance for your time and advice, I don't want to do this twice.

Sal

I think any golf cart, gas or electric will do what you want.

From my experiences, series electric carts slow down quite a bit on steep hills. Theres a boat ramp near my house, I had a 48V DS that I've had up to 30mph on flat ground. Going up the hill to get to the boat ramp (about 1/4 mile long, steep grade) it would drop to about 16-17mph. Other hills around ne it would drop to about 20. My gas powered carryall does 20mph hill, flat, dirt, pavement, it doesnt care.

I've heard the sepex electric carts and AC carts are better about hills but I cant confirm as I've never owned one. But I can say the torque off the line on the electric is pretty fun! The DS would nearly lift the front 25" tires off the ground.

But I think either would work for you, just stick with club car, Yamaha, or ezgo. Dont waste your time on anything Chinese if you want it to still work, and be able to find parts for it in a few years.

Thanks for the help so far. It’s such a short steap incline speed isn’t an issue.

I will stick with one of those for sure, seems that’s what I find mostly.

I would like to find a used one under 4-5K that’s either newer or already upgraded a bit.

Be careful on those inclines with people/cargo on the back, "impressive" wheelies are a real possibility.

So wheelies and rollovers are my biggest fears, as well as not enough umph to get up the 22% driveway with passenger(s). I just don’t know how steep is too steep and don’t want to find out.
