Smile DS Headliner

Hey guys - I search this site a few times looking for headliner mods, saw several store bought & some other really custom jobs that looked awesome.

Thanks to all that posted their results which gave me some ideas, here's what i ended up with. Wife loves it..!

Found material on Amazon, great match to my seat covers.
Thanks to all who make this forum what it is!!

Epic! Looks awesome! I've just started on mine. Any tips and tricks to the gluing or your process I need details!!

I'm using faux leather and wild croc on the center drop down portion.

Where did you find the pleated stuff at?

Thanks - the material came from Amazon. I used spray upholstery adhesive on my plywood - countersink screws going from underside through the top with rubber washers, staining crown washers over that & stainless castle nuts to finish it off. On the sides where the material meets top mounting band, my cuts were not clean - so i picked up 18 foot of 3/16"x1/2" aluminum flat plate, bent it around the inside of the top & made aluminum retainers to hold in place just above the mounting band. Wife wanted the LED's mounted that she picked out, has a remote glued to the material which changes colors & pulses with speakers.

BTW - Jkerle your buggy looks sweet with those kicks!!

Sounds like we went down very similar paths.

I'm kinda concerned with wrapping my center console it's going to be tricky but otherwise it seems like it'll be a pretty simple and straight forward process.

Thanks!! This cart as pretty much everything done to it you can do. I'm a few months away from needing a new project. Lol

Dude that is sick! you worked your tail off on that!!!
My buddy is a 1985, been upgrading for 17 years. Most recently installed a EMP 2 speed motor with Alltrax SR72500 controller.
Good luck on your next project..!!
