What is the top speed on this cart? I saw the video once before where someone was burning out.

41.8 MPH according to GPS.....Still have a few MPH left but the motor is screaming for relief at those speeds. Its the stock motor too.

Wow!! How long will run at a high rate of speed? I mean does it completely drain the batteries pretty quick or can it run for a while at say 30mph.

James....there are 9 12volt SLA (sealed lead acid) batteries in there. They arent designed to be deep cycled like a golf cart battery. They dont last that long. I suggested we not hold it down very long at those speed because if the motor grenades it will lock the rear end up and skid out of control. Its already been wrecked once. LMAO! Out of all the carts we have here at work this is the worst one. It needs brakes, steering bushings , tie rod ends and numerous other suspension peices. It wasn't that bad until we boosted it. At those high speeds everything is amplified.

Is it instant when you hit the button? I mean putting along at 15 mph and then hit the pedal and switch and BAM: 40mph or so? What keeps these motors from blowing up? I would scared that something would overheat and explode. Esp. if it were stock and throwing that kind of current to a motor all at once.

Yep...Your putting along with 36 volts of power then BAM! Hit the button and all 108 volts goes straight to the motor. Its kinda like Nitrous Oxide...you dont wanna juice it unless you are wide open anyways.....I dont know what keeps this motor from grenading...we dont hold it wide open for very long. Just a few seconds at a time. I need to take the motor apart and inspect it for wear.
