Ez-go vs Yamaha
Hi I am in the process of aquiring a cart. It is between a 2005 Yamaha and a 2005 ez go. Both are electric and about the same price. ($1900)
Any thoughts on what to go with. I have no idea. The yamy is 48v ez is 36 w/PDS?? I've tried searching the question with no real answer, any light would be great. It will mainly be for around the property, it is flat and hauling people around to see the neighbors down the road. |

Re: Ez-go vs Yamaha
WELCOME,
That question could stir it up. EZ GO parts are more readily available. Yamaha parts cost too much...............EZGO, more aftermarket accessories. Yamaha, too many models. The 48v will have more power than 36v. That didn't help much, did it. I like EZGO"S. That's just an opinion, they are fairly close in quality. Your best bet is to buy the cart with the newest/ best quality batteries. That is the big expense in electric golf cart operation. Opinion, TROJAN are best for the money. A year code is stamped on the neg battery terminal. letter-no. A-03 is jan. 03. If the batteries are original, they last about 5 years.(maybe)1 year left of good operation. That might help you decide. Good Luck tony |

Re: Ez-go vs Yamaha
If they are the same price I would go with the 48 volt. The 48 volt will have more power and if you decide to lift you will have to upgrade the controller on a pds cart.
I have seen several threads about parts for Yamaha's being hard to get and I have never had anymore problem getting the Yamaha parts than the CC or Ezgos. I think there are more CC and Ezgo dealers. |

Re: Ez-go vs Yamaha
I was told yammi parts cost more.(not sure what that means)
There are more CC and EZ carts and dealers out there, so far. Batts are $ 500.00-650.00 a set. New batteries would make a cart worth 500. more than the other (with old batteries) if thats the case. |

Re: Ez-go vs Yamaha
I just passed on what an old mec told me. That could have been relating to 15 years ago. I'll refrain from using possible outdated opinions on prices and availability in future posts. Yams are good, I don't have much experience with them. I'd buy the newest batteries, if they are same age, buy 48V. just an opinion, tonyton
