Default NetMXer's 1987 EZ-GO Martathon restoration

Here are some pictures I've taken while restoring one of my 87's. I didn't get any before pictures but these show the cart after I've installed the lift kit and tires. Hopefully tomorrow, this thing will get some paint.

My son finishing the body filler work

Well worn engine internals. Amazingly the cart ran like this.

I recognize that Town & Country and the Expedition. I must be psychic.

The cart is looking great! I can't wait to see the after pics.

How's the engine rebuild going?

Excellent job so far! What color are you planning? I am going to do paint either this winter or next summer and am looking for ideas so I am very interested on how yours comes out!

That piston looks like it was knocking around in the jug for quite a long time! Eventually, that action will cause the skirt to crack off which is not good. That motor will purrr when ya get it back together!

Looking forward to seeing more progress! Keep up the good work.

I've got the engine back together and sitting on the work bench. As soon as I'm finished with the paint, I'll put it back in and crank it up.

I'm painting it a color called Jeep Green. It's a fairly dark green that I saw on a 2007 Jeep Commander. I wanted to have it looking sort of like an ATV with the black rims and tires and dark green color. Hopefully it will turn out like I picture in my mind.

If you noticed, my son is out there in shorts and tee shirt. It was about 45 degrees out and he's got the door open, fan blowing and the radio blasting. Typical teenager.

Here are the latest pics after the first coat of paint:

It looks black when the light hits it a certain angles but it's actually a dark green.

I can't wait either. This project started three weeks ago with me buying a new battery to try and get it started after it had been sitting for two years. That led to cleaning the carb, then buying a new carb, then buying a total motor rebuild kit and a lift kit and tires....
These things are addicting.
