Default Full_Throttle's first cart

Well, I bought this 1998 medalist for the purpose of installing bigger tires and taking it hunting. I wanted electric for the quietness and lack of fuel smell. Only AFTER I bought it did I realize that this year cart was a bad choice. (DCS). Oh well...live and learn. When the motor goes out, I will just have to upgrade

I snagged myself a Jake's long arm suspensiion kit, some 23x10x10 Mud Fox tires and rims, an Alltrax 400 Amp controller, and some very nice #2/0 gauge welding cable. (I know this is overkill, but it was free )

After installing the jake's lift kit I have a few observations:

1) The instructions that came with the kit SUCKED! The rear installation instructions basically said "remove all the rear suspension and bolt on these blocks" They didn't bother to tell you there is a front and a back to the blocks, and you guessed it, I did it backwards. Nothing like doing the removal and installation twice! GRRR!

2) I was missing almost all of the locking nuts from the hardware that was supplied with the Jake's kit. I must have spent an hour or so trying to dig through all my nuts and bolts looking for something I could use. Not cool. I had read several places about Jake's being nice lifts....I am not so impressed at the moment.

3) The finished product is nice. Despite the lack of proper installation instructions and the missing parts, the lift looks good and rides even better.

I also bought some fender flares for a TXT model and "made" them fit.

After I was finished, I tried to load it on my trailer to take it to the car wash and I discovered that the ramp I used for the 4 wheeler isn't wide enough!!! DOH!

After getting it onto my home-made boat trailer converted to a 4-wheeler trailer I took it to the car wash. The whole time I am thinking this thing it too big for my trailer.....yep. It was. Looks like the trailer tire was rubbing something under the trailer due to the weight and I blew out a tire on the trailer. What a day

the alltrax controller + #2/0 gauge wire + HD solenoid = AWESOME!!!!!
the stock cart went 14 MPH. After bigger tires and better cables and controller I now hit a top speed of 20 MPH and I can still spin these big brutes over in the gravel. Ohhhhh Yeahhhhh...all on 36V!!. I am very pleased

Here are a few pics before going to the car wash.
