The 30-pack build
Hey everyone,
Wanted to get a build thread started so everyone here can see what myself and a good buddy of mine are putting together. We aquired a couple of I'm guessing mid 80's E-Z-GO Marathons and have been planning this build for the past 5 months or so. We finally got started on the first cart last Sunday and at this point we've now got 2 nights worth of work into it and are pretty happy with the progress considering what we started with. I don't want to give away all the plans just yet, but I'll keep posting pics of the progress as we go. Hope you guys enjoy the build. . . suggestions and constructive critisism are ALWAYS welcome but please take it easy on a couple new guys. . .we're no experts. |

Re: The 30-pack build
Looks like you're off to a good start
Is that going to be 4-wheel drive? |

Re: The 30-pack build
Thanks!
No it'll be 2WD. We're shooting for speed and trailability on this one. The second one we're talking about doing 4WD though but that's a ways down the road. Here's a few more pics. |

Re: The 30-pack build
The front and rear are from an 87 yamaha warrior. Not sure if we'll actually be able to use the existing rear sprocket or not yet. . .we'll see.

Re: The 30-pack build
Very cool. I have a similar cart... it's a 92. Probably doesn't matter much since your not using much more than the frame & body.
Love the front suspension work. That will be a huge improvement over stock. |

I hope so, we're trying to make it tough enough for the northern Michigan trails (as well as the intended powerplant). We still need to split the front suspension & widen it about 6 inches to push the wheels out where we want them and to get enough clearance for the steering. |

Looks to me like with the right offset rim you would be OK as far as width. Too much wider & you might have a problem loading it in a pickup or getting thru the ATV trailhead markers (their 50" wide here). Warrior, huh.... I'll have to keep my eyes open. |
