89 EZ GO hot rod
Hello all, I'm new to the site and thought I'd share my hot rod buggy with everyone. Its an ongoing project but this is how she sits right now.
I bought this 89 marathon last year for $100. It needed a complete fuel system overhaul ( all new lines, pump and carb) and came with a home built utility bed add-on. and a homemade roof/enclosure made from conduit and vinyl backsplash sheeting (no, seriously, ) I got it running then added some hot-rod black paint, red wheels w/ new baby moons, custom tuck & roll seat covers, grant steering wheel w/adaptor, "can" trailer lights with blue dot inserts and some chrome fog lights (not installed when picture was taken). I'm currently working on extending the exhaust through a 1 1/2" chrome tip at the rear, adding custom pin stripping and completing a floor mount shifter conversion with an old hurst shifter arm and skull knob. I've also been throwing around the idea of adding 10" wide slicks in the rear and 3.5" trailer tires/wheels up front. Anyway, let me know what you think. Hopefully I'll be adding some pics of my build soon. thanks. |

Re: 89 EZ GO hot rod
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I should be getting it finished up and hauling it back to camp this weekend, so I'll post pics when she's all shined up. Spoiled: Its just a plain-jane 89 2 cycle that was recently bored *I think* 0.030 over? and a custom k&n air filter. (Which by my own conservative estimate adds 10 horspower ) Got the govener adjusted so it'll keep up with all my buddy's carts Anyway, thanks again for the interest. |

Re: 89 EZ GO hot rod
Nah, I don't think the moons will work with them, which is why I probably wont do it. (I love my baby moons )
Heres a couple cell phone pics, I spent the weekend re-wiring everything, and then I shorted a wire from my voltmeter gauge and the accelerator micro switch burnt up. The original intake tubing was gone when I got the cart so I improvised after a trip to home depot. |
